It looks like DeMarini is bringing back the Zen for 2025. That's fun. In BBCOR, it might be a limited run in 32β€”and 33-inch, but we will see if they expand it. USSSA will have a 5, 8, 10 and 11 drop as well in all the sizes you would hope for.

Models Overview

As of now, we expect a BBCOR and USSSA versions of the 2025 DeMarini CF. Full sizes in the USSSA and a limited run in the BBCOR should make for some fun hitting and comparing.

Construction & Technology

The 2025 DeMarini Zen is a two piece composite with a big long barrel. It has a flexible connection piece as to create a great feel on contact.

Performance Comparison

The 2025 DeMarini Zen is an upgrade over the 2024 Zoa. The bat has changed its barrel shape with a longer taper. It has kept a similar feel and the general design of a two piece composite bat.

Comparable Bats

Two-piece composite bats like the Rawlings ICON and Louisville Slugger META are other two-piece composite bats with big barrels. Easton's Hype fire dominates the space. The ICON swings a bit heavier than a bat like the CF or Meta, but it's the same idea.

Expert Recommendations

DeMarini lost some serious ground when they pivoted to the ZOA. The Hype Fire from Easton came on hot and got some serious pub online. The ZOA was left a forgotten USSSA bat, a far cry from the utter dominance of the CF Zens of days gone by. DeMarini, as we see it, brought back the Zen series in hopes to capture some of those glory days back.

The Bottom Line

Ultimately, we think the CF is an excellent bat for the smaller hitter who wants a ton of barrel on a light swing and a wonderful feel for hits and mishits alike.
