Power Up Wedge Video Review
We watched a lot of YouTube videos about the Power Up Wedge. We found the one featuring Ashley Vanboxmeer particularly useful.
Power Up Wedge Baseball Trainer Value
At just under $50, the Power Up Wedge is not expensive as training aids go, but not so cheap that you’d buy it without being sure it’ll work for you. Here’s what the Power Up Wedge brings to the table:
The Power Up Wedge is intended for both offensive and defensive baseball and softball training. It’s made of rigid rubber with a strong Velcro strap. After about 300 swings and some throwing on painted basement floors and turf, we see no fraying or significant wear. It seems built to last and should give you good value for your investment.
Power Up Wedge Review: Ease of Use
The Power Up Wedge is simple. Strap it on your foot and get to work. There’s no complicated setup or learning curve. Younger players can use it without supervision, although smaller players might need help tightening it. Once secured, even the youngest players can benefit from it. The device is compact and easily fits into a bat bag.
Power Up Wedge Baseball Softball Aid Versatility
In baseball and softball, a lot of strength and power comes from proper use of the hips and legs. The Power Up Wedge trains players to engage their lower half not just when hitting, but also when throwing. At less than $50, its versatility is a big plus. Not many training aids can benefit both offense and defense.
Hitting with the Power Up Wedge
The Power Up Wedge can be used on the back or front foot while hitting—some even use one on each foot. We preferred using it on the back foot, as it helped the hitter avoid overloading too far back and encouraged activation of the load through the instep rather than the outside of the foot.
After 10-15 swings, it felt more natural. It can also help a hitter landing softly on the front foot or those whose front foot tends to open too early. We observed improved exit velocity and batted ball distance after a few rounds of hitting with it.
Throwing with the Power Up Wedge
While we haven’t used it extensively for throwing, it seems beneficial—especially for pitchers. Strap it on the throwing side foot to train the legs and hips for more velocity and better push-off from the mound. Like hitting, it takes some time to adjust, but we found that it felt easier and freer to throw harder after some practice.
Power Up Wedge Review
The Power Up Wedge is a useful, easy-to-use, and versatile training tool for baseball and softball. It can be used by younger players independently and works for both hitting and throwing. At its price point, it’s a solid value. We recommend the Power Up Wedge to those looking to get the most bang for their buck in a training aid.
