VukGripz: Innovative Bat Grip for Any Weather

Quick Take

VukGripz offers a unique microfiber texture that promotes a loose grip for faster bat speed and maintains consistent traction in all weather conditions. Durable and unlike traditional grips, it’s an excellent choice for players seeking innovation and reliability.

We put VukGripz on a bat and tested it with several hitters. In short, VukGripz feels unlike any other grip on the market. Its tiny outward-facing microfibers give your hands a “floating” feel. This subtle looseness encourages quicker hands and potentially faster bat speed.

Because the grip’s tackiness comes from its unique fiber structure rather than material stickiness, it performs consistently in all weather conditions and lasts longer than traditional rubber or synthetic grips.

Do we like it? Well, it made our gift guide for baseball players, so take that as a hint.

VukGripz Review

We didn’t measure any noticeable bat speed difference using our Garmin Impact sensor. We doubt most swing sensors can pick up such small changes. Still, loose hands often lead to better bat speed, and having a grip that encourages a looser hold might help psychologically.

Our hitters liked the feel. Comments included:

  • “Weird, but good”
  • “It feels slick when you rub it, but there’s a ton of traction when you actually grip it.”

All-Weather Grip

VukGripz Review

The most unique feature is its performance in any weather. Unlike traditional grips that rely on sticky materials, VukGripz uses fiber structure for traction. Wet or dry, it feels the same. This sets it apart from grips like Lizard Skins, whose tack can fade or change when wet.

VukGripz Recommendations

Overall, we recommend VukGripz. If you play in rainy conditions or dislike how other grips lose tackiness over time, give it a try. Its unique feel is unlike anything else on the market.

We did struggle installing it on asymmetrical knobs (like an Axe handle or a heavily tapered wood bat knob). The lack of stretch made it tough to accommodate non-cylindrical shapes. On standard handles (most aluminum and composite bats), installation was as easy as any other grip.
