Models Overview
The standard 2027 Kryo2 fastpitch line has four retail models. WBL4268010 is the -11 in 27 through 33 inches; WBL4269010 is the -10 in 30, 31, 32, 33, 33.5, and 34 inches; WBL4270010 is the -9 in 32, 33, 33.5, and 34 inches; and WBL4271010 is the -8 in 33, 33.5, and 34 inches. Louisville markets the family as balanced, and the -11, -10, and -9 sit in that range. The -8 carries noticeably more barrel and is a somewhat loaded bat, especially in 33.5 and 34 inches. Start with the -10, move lighter when barrel control is the problem, and demo the -8 at full speed before buying.
Kryo2 Empress variants
Empress adds four colorway variants at $449.95 each: WL2700301 (-11, 27 through 33 inches), WL2700401 (-10, 30/31/32/33/33.5/34), WL2700501 (-9, 32/33/33.5/34), and retailer-listed WL2700601 (-8, 33/33.5/34). The first three size runs are manufacturer-listed; SPC Sports confirms the -8 run. Scores are estimates from the corresponding standard Kryo2 drop, with no separate Empress performance, swing-weight, or durability testing.
Louisville includes a size-specific construction caveat: the 27- through 31-inch Empress -11 carries the redesigned barrel introduced on the 2026 Kryo. Do not assume every size has identical barrel construction.
College eligibility: Louisville explicitly says Empress -11 is not approved for college play. The September 2, 2026 NCAA list names Empress -10, -9, and -8 as LFPKR2EMD10L-27, LFPKR2EMD9-27, and LFPKR2EMD8-27, respectively, with a 950 PSI minimum. Match the code on the physical bat and satisfy current testing requirements; retail WL/WBL identifiers do not establish NCAA eligibility. Standard or custom Kryo2 -11 rows do not cover Empress -11.
Availability and identifiers: retailers advertise October 14, 2026 for Empress. The manufacturer pages inspected on October 9 say Coming Soon without a firm date, so the launch date remains unconfirmed by those pages. JustBats uses WBL2700301/WBL2700401/WBL2700501/WBL2700601 for the same drop-specific listings. These are documented retailer aliases, not confirmed alternative manufacturer identifiers.

What actually changed?
Is it better? On paper, the wider-gap GO-EX+ barrel is the one change that could separate Kryo2 from the 2025/2026 Kryo. Louisville is promising better performance, feel, and sound. Existing Kryo owners should upgrade for a better-fitting size or drop, not because a new barrel name makes the old bat obsolete.
